Inclement weather or COVID-19 keeping your date night inside? Are restaurants too full for your liking on date night? Whatever it is that has you home for date night, here are some at-home date night ideas and ways to keep it fun.
Indoor Scavenger Hunt
For at-home date night, you and your partner can create a treasure hunt for the occasion. This scavenger hunt is something that you may be able to start working on a few days before. It all depends on how creative you are and the amount of time you have.
For example, you can purchase index cards, take the time to write clues or rhyming clues on the index cards. From there, you can find places in the home to set the clues (with different prizes at each clue) around the home. Remember, if you want to keep this inexpensive, you do not have to purchase prizes. They can be old pictures, trinkets, or candy. Don’t forget the final clue is where you can leave a single prize.
Your significant other can also do this. It may be interesting to see what you both come up with and how different it can be.
As noted, this is where you choose how much funds you want to use or how creative you want to be for this indoor date night. Check out what this wife and mother of four did for her scavenger hunt.
Wine Night
Been wanting to try wine tasting for date night? You could do it at home with your significant other!

This is your chance to do your version of a charcuterie board (meat, cheese, and crackers or cheese and fruit platter.) Buy various types of wines. Show off your wine expertise as you go taste the different types of wine you bought. For ideas on a charcuterie board: . As far as an example of how to choose wines, view this Forbe’s article.
Netflix and Chill
While the phrase “Netflix and Chill” has been used as a euphemism over the last few years, it sure is a great at-home date night idea.
Netflix (or any other streaming service) is a great choice for indoor date night. It gives you and your partner some alone time to watch old movies, new ones you haven’t watched yet, or maybe binge on some series.

You can keep the room dark like a movie theatre and buy boxes of candy reminiscent of time at the movies. For those who want to go the extra mile, you can buy or make cute popcorn boxes or trays and fill them up with goodies you enjoy for movie time.
Cook a Special Dinner
This one should be self-explanatory. You and your love one cooks for each other or cook together. Have fun and be creative with your dinner menu!
Take the time to view what food is available in your refrigerator or pantry and cook a dish you two will enjoy together for date night. The way the world is set right now, you can even have a store shop for your groceries, and you can pick them up from the store, already bagged. You just cook what you and your loved one enjoy.
Classic Game Night
This is another way to get creative with an at-home date night. Pull out those classic board games (or other games) you and your loved one want to teach each other or enjoy for the nostalgia. Tired of chess, checkers, or card games like Memory or Go Fish? There are new games out there to try or make your own!
At-home date nights don’t have to be boring. While some ideas may make you dig in your wallet, others allow you to use your creativity. You can also combine different ideas, as well. For example, combine classic game night with wine night. You could also do dinner and an indoor scavenger hunt.
