Summer is just a few weeks away, and if you’re still looking for ways to keep your kids busy, you’re in for a treat! There are so many fun activities you could do with the kids.

Making ice cream at home can be a fun science lesson, and you can find simple recipes! A great way to cool off and enjoy a special treat.
5. Scavenger hunt
Try a scavenger hunt! You can make this as simple or hard as you want based on what you have in your home, and it’ll keep your kids’ occupied for a while.
6. Build a fort
You can just never go wrong with this. Kids love forts. Set them up with some books and flashlights underneath, and they’ll be occupied for hours (or minutes, at least).
7. Go for a walk
Early in the morning or after dinner while it’s still cool, enjoy a walk close by your house! It’s so helpful to get a change of scenery and some exercise.
8. Write letters
Use this downtime to have your kids write some letters to their friends and family! It will be such a welcome surprise from family members, and it will be so fun for your kids to create.

This doesn’t sound like a typical child activity, but kids love to be helpful! It’s also an excellent way for them to start learning responsibility.
Start a garden together! This can be a full planted bed or just a pot, but kids will love seeing and watching your plant grow! Bonus if it’s veggies and maybe they’ll eat it!
Kids are naturally curious, imaginative, and creative. Sit them outside in old clothes for a relatively mess-free experience.

You can find so many ideas for sensory bins. These are incredibly popular and can keep kids entertained for hours. Pick something your child loves and set up a station for them!

Like yoga, there are a lot of great videos out there that can teach dances. Or just crank the music and have your own dance party in your living room!
Set up a tarp with a hose and some soap, and you have a super fun slippy water slide. This is hours of easy entertainment.

There are so many great learning apps out there that make education fun for kids! This can be some fun downtown for you while your kids are actively learning.
18. Have a picnic
You can easily make the ordinary super magical for kids. Set up your lunch or dinner outside on a blanket, and you have a fun picnic!

Most kids love bugs. Send them out with a bucket of dirt and leaves, and see how many different bugs they can collect!

Pile all your pillows and blankets in front of the tv and have a cozy movie day! If you have a video projector, you could even do this in your backyard.
27. Play with Play-Doh
Another imaginative activity that will keep the kiddos occupied. Give them some leaves, sticks, and stones, and see if they can create their own little world!
28. Make a car wash
Take some soap and water outside, and have the kids wash their toy cars. This could extend to any toys they have, but this is sure to keep them busy and having fun!
29. Take a nap
Another good rainy day activity, but everyone cuddles on the couch and take a nap together.

You can create these using anything you have, even rice in a toilet paper tube. Not only will kids love making this, but they’ll also have so much fun using them!

Go into your backyard and see what cool things your kids can find, then glue it to paper and make a nature collage.

If you live somewhere with foot traffic, have your kids help make lemonade and set up a stand to sell it.
